Provides flicker free even lighting for passenger cars (scale or three rail) of 15 5/8” interior length or longer from track voltage. Full brightness typically occurs at 8.5 Volts (AC or DC). This supports operation with conventional or command control. Brightness level is user adjustable. Depending on car, vestibule lighting is supported either directly or with add-on lighting as desired. The both the regular and 80" (up to 84") long car kits come with 6" tail and plug on board to solder into existing wiring. For MTH applications you will reuse the existing double-ended plug per instructions. For 2-rail scale operation is supported! Double-sided tape provide quick installation on the ceiling of the car.-
Strip Lighting Supply This Power Supply is identical to that used in the passenger kits. It is intended for DIY applications using the widely available 12 VDC strip lighting (we sell them too!). The supply supports full range from off to full brightness based on user control using a on-board multi-turn potentiometer. Also provides flicker free operation above 8.5 VAC track voltage at typical brightness. Yes, these are for conventional, DCC, TMCC, DCS, and Legacy applications to provide realistic lighting applications. All boards come with double-sided tape and removable plug for ease in installation! Yes, one of our competitors offers a similar product but with much lower capacitance and coarse brightness control (This means ours has much longer non-flicker time!). The 12 turn pot gives you fine control of brightness. The plug allows you to disconnect from the chassis. Our supply will support a double level lighting of scale length cars (about 20 LED segments) without any problem at conventional voltages (caused we planned it that way!). "Observation Cars" Concerned how to add DIY lighting for "tail-end" cars? Yes, many manufacturers incorrectly call them "Observation" cars. Now we have a new product that comes as a kit with the strip supply and electronics with LEDs for the tail-end portion of these cars. Yep, still gotta' select what you want but the price is almost half the full up version sold elsewhere on our site. Basic board(s) shown below. Additional parts in kit to complete the board to drive markers, top rear light, and/or drumhead. LEDs included too! LED Segments may be bought singularly or in 5 meter roll (100 segments). Each segment is approximately 2" long and has solder points at both ends. Most just buy the roll and have enough LEDs for many cars.
Full instructions show solder points for power, lighting and single LED operation with on-board resistor. This supply can easily support up to 20 segments. Additional segments may require the addition of a heat sink sold elsewhere on this site. -
Vista Dome LED Lighting
This is for the typical central only vista area on streamlined scale cars. Provides LED lighting to upper and lower passenger portions of car. The upper areas may be dimmed using the supplied resistor from the three lower sections. Overall brightness is user defined. Flicker free. Provided is a strip supply 6" leads for all application along with adequate number of segments to fully light the typical car size and resistor for upper level dimming. A minimum of 9 volts AC or DC is required for full illumination! Suitable for DCC, DCS, TMCC, or conventional applications. Have a tail-end "observation" car with vista dome? Yes, we can provide a lighting kit for upper and lower sections along with LEDs for side markers, drumhead and top rear light. There are several variations of this car in O Scale and it is best to contact us with exactly what you have (length, rear lighting required, and manufacturer) so it may be built for you needs. -
Background Most baggage cars had some form of lighting so the workers could find things. This kit uses track power and reaches full brightness around 8.5 volts track voltage. Operation Baggage compartment door areas (two) each have a set of LED lights. Brightness is user defined and flicker free. The standard kit is identical to the regular car lighting kit and may be ordered here or as a coach car. This kit is 15 5/8" long and uses the standard passenger kit. The second item in the drop down menu is the DIY kit and comes with supply and two 2" segments along with wires for you to install. If you have a shorter baggage car or want to save some $$, then you want the second DIY option. This later version is cheaper, fully lights the two baggage areas, and requires soldering to assemble and install. If you are ordering the Strip LED Power Supply (D-I-Y) & LEDs segment roll, you can do all this yourself! -
These Dwarf Signals are very close to scale size providing realism on your layout. We carry primarily O Scale signals that work with our products or may be used as standalone. The Dwarf signals work directly with our controllers or require an anode common supply with the appropriate dropping resistor to limit the current to the red and green LEDs. Anode common you ask? That means both of the positive connection leads from the LEDs are internally tied together. Most of the time you can connect the common anode to a 5 VDC regualted supply and put the appropriate sized resistor in the negative lead to ground. Our controller provides the supply and resistors along with an electronic switch to turn on the red or green LED depending on a trigger input. The Red over Green option may take a month or two to order and the minimum accepted order is 10 of this configuration. -

Each unit is only 1" x 2" footprint allowing easy placement in rolling stock, dummy engine, or track-side accessory. Mini commander has two versions for Accessory (HC version special order) or to support a dummy engine (EX). All four outputs can be set to a voltage output for motor, solenoid, smoke, or light control. There is a Serial signal output, but an additional Serial Buffer is required to drive an ERR Sound kit. Crossbucks Lights with LEDs
We have several variations of these Custom Signal Crossbucks. These signals work with our Crossbuck Controller and IR sensors. For isolated track sections, the more simpler Controller works great. These crossing signals are the last of the O Scale Custom Signal brand of the crossbucks. Quality is almost as good as the Tomar crossbucks. The LEDs include a lens. Same drive board is used for operation. Trigger from controller board may be IR beam OR isolated track. These signals come two per purchase as listed, or single units. One mast will have the characteristic bell at the top. On the real railroads only one mast of two would have the bell. The signals come with a phone plug that will be cut off to use the Royz Trains Crossbuck Controller. We have controller boards with proper current limiting resistor but some may require a 680 ohm resistor (supplied) is added to the common anode lead and then the wires are connected to the drive board. If you use these product with other than our products, the user is responsible for providing the proper resistor size. Multiple configurations are available:- Two lights per signal - two signals

This Driver board may be used in any scale with common anode LEDs in the crossbucks. These include Tomar and Custom Signals. If you have a specific application, contact us to see how to best support you. The Flasher board used is from Ngineering. This Railroad Crossing Signal Track Detection and Light Driver Board operates from accessory voltage (AC or DC). On board are up to two detection circuits, a realistic flasher for the LEDs, and circuitry to support gate operation. Typically railroad crossings are activated by a train coming from either direction. And continue to operate until the train leaves the protected block. On your railroad, this protection block may be defined by Infrared beams or isolated rail (3 rail O Gauge). The IR signal can support up to 5 parallel tracks and the IR beam will stretch 25" reliably (and more with good alignment!). The height of the beam may be at wheel level or car/engine body level. In addition, this board also supports isolated sections of track. Why both? Simple; some model railroaders use the isolated track to trigger occupancy signals for small or large section of track. Our approach allows a separate source for detecting a train in the protected crossing block. So far I have sold more units to O Scale folks who rely on the IR approach. And the fun doesn't stop there! The main board will also drive the Crossing Bell sounds, just select this option. -
Currently special order only! Contact me directly with your needs. Background This supply is a rejuvenation of one provided several years ago, but with current components. It is designed to replace the existing battery used to operate the horn and some other limited applications in post-war Lionel applications. Connections: The supply has three wires to connect to the center rail, outside rail, and battery connection on the relay. Details provided in the accompanying instructions. Mounting is via a double-sided tape. This approach supports future removal if necessary. Full instructions with photos provided. But let's be honest, given the opportunity just about anybody can mess things up! Usual installation time is about 15 minutes. If you are already familiar with how the existing battery, relay, and horn work this installation is very straight forward. If all else fails, read the instructions provided! -
This kit has the DIY LED supply, 6" of LED segments and includes the Ngineering EOT with LED. The EOT Simulation module & LED are also sold separately elsewhere on this site. The EOT operation is a very close approximation to the standard one used on real railroads. If your caboose already has a LED in place, you can attach this kit directly to it, instead of the supplied red LED. See options below for dual kit, or pre-assembled. Panel Mounted Atlas Switch Machine Control We offer a panel mounted remote control for the Atlas Switch Machine. These are used in several scales in model railroad applications. The kit includes a PC board mounted below the panel; the LED indicators for switch position along with panel mounted switch. Two wires needed to connect to each switch machine. This control operates in parallel with the actual Atlas switch machine. This control resolves the hot switch machine experienced with other products! It will work with one or multiple switch machines. The limit is determined by the transformer supply and the wire size feeding the switch machine. The kit will also operate the NJ switch machine or may be operated with a capacitive discharge supply. When using a DC supply with provided electronics you can operate a DC switch machine as well. Kit Components Each kit includes the PC board, control panel switch, and red/green LEDs with current limiting resistors pre-mounted. Instructions included of course! The PC control board has screw terminals for ease in connection and double sided foam backing for easy mounting. The second option has the same control board but with a higher powered supply for those that wish to use their own panel lighting and switch. O Scale Heavyweight Platform Car Lighting These are built upon our regular O Scale passenger car kits, but specifically support the markers, drumhead and/or platform lighting of heavyweight passenger cars. Properly called platform, parlor, or business cars these cars are often incorrectly called observation cars (the marketers are obviously not train people). This kit builds on our standard 15.6" passenger kit. The kit provides full interior length lighting plus may add platform LED (MTH - Yes, others if space is available) and supply for both marker bulbs/LEDs and drumhead bulb (as selected). Brightness level is user adjustable. On board regulation ensures flicker free operation. MTH Premier is accommodated per the instructions. Additional plug provided to connect existing marker lights or adding Tomar scale markers. Some non-MTH tail-end cars may support (or be adapted to support) platform lighting. Our current version of the kits provides lighting for the forward vestibule on 72' scale cars. Both 80' and 84' cars are supported but an added vestibule light is required (order separately on this site or contact us with your application). Note that the "general" item is designed to support 1.5 V marker bulbs. If you have LED driven markers it may burn them out!
